The Riverside County Sheriff's Office is promoting Child Passenger Safety Week starting Monday, Sept. 21, while urging parents to prepare for AB 435, a California law taking effect Jan. 1, 2027, that will require children ages 8 to 16 to pass a five-step fit test before riding without a booster seat.
