The Riverside Transit Agency is waiving fares on Election Day for anyone riding to or from a polling place.

On Tuesday, Nov. 3, riders can board any RTA bus at no charge by telling the driver they are going to vote or have just voted, according to the agency's website. The free rides apply to local fixed routes, CommuterLink, GoMicro and Dial-A-Ride services across western Riverside County.

Dial-A-Ride customers need to mention they are traveling to or from the polls when they schedule their trip, the agency said.

What Murrieta riders should know

Three RTA routes run through Murrieta, according to the agency's maps and schedules page:

  • Route 23 connects Temecula, Murrieta and Wildomar.
  • Route 61 runs between Perris Station Transit Center, Sun City, Menifee, Murrieta and Temecula.
  • Route 206 links Temecula and Murrieta to Lake Elsinore, Dos Lagos and the Corona Transit Center.

On a regular day, a one-way local fixed-route fare is $1.75, according to RTA's fare information. Dial-A-Ride trips for seniors and riders with disabilities cost $3.50 each way.

A local connection to the board

Murrieta City Councilmember Cindy Warren serves as RTA's first vice chair for 2026, according to an agency press release. The board also unanimously elected Corona Councilmember Jim Steiner as chair in January 2026.

The agency said on its website that it aims to make voting more accessible for communities across western Riverside County.

Riders can plan their Nov. 3 trip on RTA's website.
