Six candidates are competing for three Temecula Valley Unified School District board seats on Tuesday, Nov. 3, in races that will shape the direction of a board marked by internal conflict.

Results for these races are not yet available. This article will be updated when the Riverside County Registrar of Voters posts returns. Check voteinfo.net for official results.

Voters in Trustee Areas 2, 3 and 4 will decide who fills the nonpartisan seats. Ballot drop boxes close at 8 p.m., according to the Temecula voter guide published by Patch. Mail ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 3 and received by county election offices by Nov. 10.

The candidates

Trustee Area 2: Incumbent Emil Barham faces Brian Emmert, described by Patch as a father and businessman.

Trustee Area 3: Incumbent Jennifer Wiersma announced she would not seek reelection. Karen Poznanski, a teacher and doctoral candidate, faces Ronda Bowen for the open seat, according to The Press-Enterprise's Riverside County ballot guide.

Trustee Area 4: Incumbent Joseph Komrosky faces David Sola, identified by Patch as a STEM education director.

What's at stake

The TVUSD board has drawn attention for months of turmoil. Komrosky was recalled by voters in June 2024 but won his seat back months later and again serves as board president, The Press-Enterprise reported in December 2025.

In October, the Riverside County Sheriff's Office confirmed it was investigating an accusation that Trustee Melinda Anderson placed a recording device under the desk of fellow board members before a Sept. 22 meeting, The Riverside Record reported. Anderson is not on the ballot. She posted a video to social media on Sept. 30 stating she intended to step down at a date yet to be determined, according to The Record. The district said it had not received formal communication from Anderson about her position.

Also on the ballot: Measure S, a $215 million bond to fund repairs and upgrades at TVUSD campuses. If approved, property owners within district boundaries would pay about $20 per $100,000 of assessed property value each year, according to Patch.

As of Nov. 1, the Riverside County Registrar of Voters reported roughly 362,798 vote-by-mail ballots had been returned countywide out of about 1,489,155 issued.
