Murrieta's annual Halloween concert and laser light show returns with free live music, lights and food at Town Square Park on Oct. 23.
The City of Murrieta will host its Dark in the Park Concert and Laser Light Show on Friday, Oct. 23, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Town Square Park & Amphitheater, 11 Town Square, according to the city's event calendar. The lineup includes the Monster Mash House Band performing live and a laser light show. Local food vendors will be on site selling food throughout the evening.
The event is free.
The city described Dark in the Park as a family-friendly night of music, lights and Halloween fun, and is encouraging attendees to come in costume, Patch reported on Thursday, Sept. 24.
Dark in the Park has been running in Murrieta for several years. The Murrieta Police Department's 2023 annual report described that year's edition as the event's third, though the report's text was incomplete and the exact year the event began is unclear from available records. The city's Special Events Division, which lists Laura Frasso and Nadine Kotob as contacts, coordinates the event.
Residents who want to double down on Halloween spirit can also enter the city's Halloween Home Decorating Contest. Entries are due by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, and homes must be within Murrieta city limits, according to the city's special events page.
