The Champion, a sports bar on Murrieta Hot Springs Road, has reopened with a full liquor license, adding craft cocktails to the beer and wine it previously served.

The Chamber of Southwest Riverside County held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the bar on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. The event marked what the Chamber called "an exciting new chapter" for the business as it unveiled an expanded bar experience.

The Champion is at 39400 Murrieta Hot Springs Rd., Suite 123A, Murrieta, CA 92563. The venue describes itself as a game-day bar and party venue for private events, with a sports pub menu. It opens at 2:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and on Sundays.

Before the upgrade, guests could order only beer and wine. The full liquor license now lets the bar serve craft cocktails alongside those existing options. The Chamber, formerly the Murrieta/Wildomar Chamber of Commerce, said the business supports local artists, musicians, performers and small businesses.

The ribbon cutting was one of five highlights the Chamber listed in its weekly recap published Sept. 21. The recap noted the ceremony welcomed the community "to experience their newly refreshed space."

Chamber honors four Murrieta students

Earlier on Sept. 17, the Chamber hosted the first Murrieta Student of the Month breakfast of the 2026-27 school year. The program, held from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m., recognized four students for leadership, character and contributions to their schools and community, according to the Chamber's event calendar.

The Chamber did not publicly name the four honorees in its recap or event listings. The monthly program runs throughout the school year.

The Champion is open for visits at its Murrieta Hot Springs Road location.
