Murrieta riders on two Riverside Transit Agency bus routes woke up to new schedules Sunday, Sept. 13, after the agency rolled out changes across 26 of its 36 fixed routes.

Riverside Transit Agency announced on X that the changes are live and directed riders to download the updated Ride Guide and Service Change Guide at RiversideTransit.com.

Three RTA routes serve Murrieta: Route 23, Route 61 and Route 206. Two of them changed.

Route 23, which connects Temecula, Murrieta and Wildomar, now runs on an adjusted weekday northbound schedule. Route 206, linking Temecula and Murrieta to Lake Elsinore Outlet Center Park and Ride, Tom's Farms, Dos Lagos and Corona Transit Center, shifted its weekday schedule in both directions. The agency said both adjustments aim to improve connections and maintain efficiency, according to its September 2026 Service Change Guide.

Route 61, which runs between Perris Station Transit Center and Temecula through Sun City and Menifee, was not listed among the changed routes.

Nearby, Route 24 between Temecula and Pechanga Resort also saw weekday schedule adjustments in both directions. RTA said those changes are meant to improve connections.

RTA has not published details on exact departure-time shifts for the affected routes. Riders should download the updated September 2026 Ride Guide and System Map at RiversideTransit.com to check specific stop times before boarding.

Youth ride free through June 2027: RTA's Youth Ride Free program, originally set to expire Dec. 31, 2026, has been extended through June 30, 2027. Anyone 18 or younger can ride all RTA fixed-route and GoMicro buses at no cost by showing a valid RTA Youth ID, school ID or other proof of age.
