A former Lake Elsinore Unified School District custodian was sentenced to 30 years to life in state prison for molesting two girls and possessing child pornography.

Riverside County Superior Court Judge Jeff Zimel imposed the sentence on David Robledo Jr., 38, of Homeland, during a hearing Oct. 3 at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta, as first reported by Patch, citing City News Service.

Robledo pleaded guilty in August to two counts of lewd acts on a child and one count of possession of child pornography. The plea included a sentence-enhancing allegation for targeting multiple victims. Prosecutors dropped four related charges as part of the agreement.

The sentence was stipulated under the plea deal.

How the case began

The Riverside County District Attorney's Office said the investigation started in December 2024. The Riverside County Child Exploitation Team (RCCET) received a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) that someone in the county was uploading explicit images of minors to a cloud-based storage platform.

Investigators identified Robledo as the account user, according to prosecutors. Search warrants were served at his property on Collin Drive, and he was arrested without incident on March 20, 2025.

Victims and the district

The molestation acts occurred in 2018, according to court documents. The two victims were not identified, and prosecutors did not disclose the circumstances.

Whether the victims were students in the Lake Elsinore Unified School District (LEUSD) remains unclear. LEUSD did not identify which campuses Robledo worked at, Patch reported. The district has since terminated him.

Robledo had no documented prior felony convictions.

The investigating team

RCCET is led by the Riverside County District Attorney's Office Bureau of Investigation and is an affiliate of the San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The Murrieta Police Department is among the agencies that participate in the multi-agency team.

No further court dates were announced.
