The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is hiring in Murrieta, with starting pay above $21 an hour and a walk-in job fair set for Friday, Oct. 16.
Postal employees will staff the Murrieta Post Office at 39571 Los Alamos Rd. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to answer questions and help applicants navigate the online hiring process, the agency said in an Oct. 8 press release. No appointment is required, but USPS encourages attendees to register in advance through the agency's event page.
Three positions are open.
Rural Carrier Associates deliver mail and packages in rural and suburban areas up to six days a week, starting at $21.89 per hour. USPS described the role as a strong entry point for people interested in a long-term postal career.
Assistant Rural Carriers handle Sunday and holiday package deliveries on a part-time basis at the same $21.89 rate. The position is geared toward applicants who already hold another job or want extra income.
Holiday Clerk Assistants work temporary seasonal shifts doing distribution, sales and customer support at a local post office, starting at $21.44 per hour. The role is a seasonal hire for the busy holiday period.
A second job fair will run at the same time at the Sun City Post Office, 29700 Haun Rd. in Menifee.
Applicants can also browse and apply online through the USPS careers page. Rural Carrier Associate and Assistant Rural Carrier listings can be filtered by job title and by selecting California under location. Holiday Clerk Assistant openings appear under the keyword "holiday."
Positions are posted Fridays through Tuesdays until filled. No closing date for applications has been announced.
